Temperatures and conditions vary from day to day. While we have sunny days on the island, we recommend packing warm clothing and rain gear.
We partner with our friends at Sunny Cove Kayaking. A guided sea kayaking excursion is included with your stay. We have four options available which can be discussed with our team when you make your reservation.
Please let your reservation agent know at least two weeks prior to your arrival to ensure we have made the proper accommodations.
Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge has a minimum stay requirement of two nights. This allows guests to take part in complimentary sea kayaking, plus other activities on Fox Island. Longer stays are recommended for guests looking to explore the island further or to spend full days of relaxation in the lodge, sauna or on the oceanfront.
We recommend that you have warm clothing and rain gear in your bag. The days can be pleasant, but it does cool down in the evenings. Be sure to bring your camera as well!
Kayaking with Sunny Cove, beach walks, a small hike (recommended for experienced hikers), the use of our oceanfront sauna, relaxing in our lounge with a book and a hand-crafted drink, campfires on the beach, spotting sea life from the lodge and more.
Based on Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge's exclusive experience and personalized service, a suggested gratuity of 5% to 10% of the cost of your stay is recommended. If you have purchased alcohol at the lodge during your stay, you can simply add a gratuity when you settle your tab.
You will check in at the Adventure Center located next to the Kenai Fjords Tours office in Seward. From there, a staff member will provide you with a boarding pass. You will then take a 45-minute scenic boat ride out to the island. A Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge staff member will greet you at the top of the ramp and accompany you to the lodge.
We ask that you bring only a small carry-on bag and personal item to the island. The rest of your luggage can be stored in the Kenai Fjords Tours office free of charge.
Our main lodge has two charging stations for your electronics.
