This family friendly sea kayak combo trip is perfect for those who wish to explore both the waters and temperate rain forests of Seward’s Resurrection Bay at a relaxing pace. Your 7 hour adventure begins with a narrated van ride through Seward on your way to Lowell Point. Enjoy hearing the history and seeing the beauty along the way. Once arriving in Lowell Point for outfitting and kayak instruction, your group will paddle the pristine shoreline south to Tonsina Point. As you scan the horizon while paddling, you will be astounded by the mountains and glacial vistas you see, as well as some likely close encounters with sea otters, sea birds, bald eagles and leaping salmon.
Depending on tides and water conditions, the stopover at Tonsina Point will allow you to take a short walk to a hidden waterfall, explore a tide pool or amble along the ocean beaches. Following a beach-side picnic lunch, additional opportunities to explore Tonsina Point include venturing in to its ghost forest, simply taking in the awe-inspiring mountain views around you.
The pace of this tour is ideal for visitors who would like time to relax into their surroundings. Your tour is fully guided and includes a stable and efficient tandem (two-person) kayak. Outfitting and sea kayak instruction will take place prior to entering Resurrection Bay.
Meet the Sunny Cove shuttle van at their office located at 1304 4th Ave, Seward, AK. The shuttle will take you to Lowell Point for your tour.
