Kenai Fjords Wildlife Cruise & Glacier Kayak Combo

Imagine a day filled with incredible marine wildlife viewing, kayaking along a rugged shoreline and watching Alaska tidewater glaciers calve. Well, imagine no more with Sunny Cove Sea Kayaking’s Kenai Fjords Wildlife Cruise & Glacier Kayak Combo Tour.

Your day begins with a 55-mile wildlife cruise from Seward to Aialik (eye-al-ick) Bay. During the journey you’ll be on the lookout for humpback whales, orca, sea lions, harbor seals, puffins, bald eagles, porpoise and more.

Aialik Bay is home to both the amazing Holgate and Aialik Glaciers. After being dropped off near one of these glaciers, you will paddle through the blue-green sea waters and small floating iceberg bits (bergy bits) in the midst of the most spectacular scenery Alaska has to offer. As you paddle up to as close as ½ mile from the immense face of Holgate and Aialik glacier, the constant sound of bergy bits touching your kayak, the thunder of glacier calving nearby and gulls calling out overhead create a truly amazing sensory experience.

Getting Here

To reach the town of Seward take the Seward Highway south, (130 miles). In Seward, you'll pass a Safeway grocery store on your right (west). After that, keep a lookout for a brown sign on the right that directs you to the Kenai Fjords National Park Visitors Center on the left (toward the Bay). Take this left onto South Harbor Street – directly in front of you is the Visitor’s Center on Fourth Avenue. Sunny Cove Sea Kayaking Adventure Center is located to the left in a two story log building with a green metal roof in a row of similar tour-providing kiosks about 300 feet north of the Visitor’s Center.

You may also travel to Seward by motorcoach or rail.  Contact us to learn more.
